The combinations contained in the book are intended to serve both as a record and as a creative and educational tool. The majority are composed by Tony Llacer, who was trained in the Balanchine style in America and now teaches and choreographs in Singapore. The book contains a glossary of the terms used, with explanatory notes and cross-references to alternative terms in the text. The notation and text with musical information has been arranged side by side, in order to make comparison easy. Counts and additional instructions are given in blue type in the text also to add to the ease of use. The degree of difficulty ranges from elementary to advanced (pointe), with the majority falling into the Intermediate category, but is up to the teacher or student if they wish to modify them or create new combinations using the steps contained as a base. |
