I thought that I would remind readers of the ways in which DTOL can help you.

If you are looking for a dance class, the first place to look is the DTOL listings page for your country/region. For instance, if you are in South Africa, you look up the DTOL South Africa web page. You can find all the listings pages from the Map of the World page at www.dtol.ndirect.co.uk/dtol2.htm. It’s always worth looking, even if you haven’t found a teacher there before – 21 new dance teachers register on DTOL every week on average.

If you can’t find a teacher or class on the listings page, you can register your details for a free 4 week listing on the STUDENTS AND ADULTS LOOKING FOR DANCE CLASSES web page at www.dtol.ndirect.co.uk/dtol14.htm. If you’ve done that recently, you won’t be able to have another free listing for a few months. Dance teachers regularly check this web page to find new students.

If you live in a country/region where there is a DTOL representative, you could email them to see whether they can help. These are the current DTOL Reps:

Angie Gallis: main USA rep & Ohio - twinkletoez@danceart.net
Heather Tippey: USA/Illinois - htippey@hotmail.com
Jaime Isaacson: USA/Virginia & North Carolina - vbdancer82@hotmail.com
Jennifer Tyson: USA/Georgia - jen.tyson@yahoo.com
Joel Seger: USA/Massachusetts - ccsdanceacademy@aol.com
Judith Huddleston: USA/Michigan - jilona@aol.com
Patricia Meja: USA/New York - mejapatricia@hotmail.com
Julie Barker: UK/Essex - julieecarter@aol.com
Lisa-Jayne Knowles: UK/North West England - Harlequindance@hotmail.com
Chantel Milne: Canada - littlesteps@shaw.ca
Elena Christodoulidou: Cyprus -  amfidromo@avacom.net
Emma Wei-Ling Tse: main Asia rep & Hong Kong - emma_tt@yahoo.com
Lourd Vijay: India - lourdvijay@hotmail.com
Fiona Alderman: France - fionaalderman@worldonline.fr
Jayne Melville: Spain - jaynem@mercuryin.es
Leon Draper: New Zealand - sonivan@yahoo.com
Alexia Cañizares: Ecuador - acanizares@on.net.ec
Melissa Risi: South Africa - risiacademyofdance@yahoo.com

If you still have no joy, you can email DTOL from the web page www.dtol.ndirect.co.uk/ng3.htm, saying what classes you are looking for and where and when. Your request will appear in the next Members’ Newsletter, sent weekly to DTOL’s dance teacher members.

If you are a freelance teacher and looking for work, keep an eye on the SCHOOLS AND COMPANIES LOOKING FOR TEACHERS web page at www.dtol.ndirect.co.uk/dtol15.htm. There are always a good number of dance teacher vacancies there. You can also register your details for a free 4 week listing on the DANCE TEACHERS AND DANCERS LOOKING FOR WORK web page, which is at www.dtol.ndirect.co.uk/dtol13.htm. If you want to post your listing on this page for longer than 4 weeks, you can do so for a small payment. Occasionally a teacher will try to sneak in a second free listing, but I usually keep a pretty close watch on this! (although it’s perfectly OK to have a second listing some time after a previous listing – say a few months)

The SCHOOLS AND COMPANIES LOOKING FOR TEACHERS web page at www.dtol.ndirect.co.uk/dtol15.htm is the place to be if you are a dance school looking to hire a teacher. Again, the listing is free for a short time – 2 weeks – but you can post for longer for a small payment.

There’s also a relatively little-used web page DANCE MUSIC AND MUSICIANS at www.dtol.ndirect.co.uk/dtol16.htm. This page is intended for dance class pianists seeking work, teachers seeking pianists, etc.
