including that word will be shown. Check it out from the Map of the

briefly with:
* your name
* your email address
* your town, state/province/county and country
* your dance interests
* the kind of person you would like as your dance pen friend
I will then publish your details in the newsletter and, hopefully, other

I thought that I would remind readers (especially new readers) of the
ways in which DTOL can help you.
If you are looking for a dance class, the first place to look is the
DTOL listings. You can find all the listings pages from the Map of the
World page at
www.dtol.ndirect.co.uk/dtol2.htm. It's always worth looking, even if
you haven't found a teacher there before - 21 new dance teachers
register on DTOL every week on average. AND there's a new filter
facility - you can select the type of dance you're interested in and
those listings including that word will be shown.
If you can't find a teacher or class on the listings page, you can
register your details for a free 4 week listing on the STUDENTS AND
ADULTS LOOKING FOR DANCE CLASSES web page at
www.dtol.ndirect.co.uk/dtol14.htm. If you've done that recently, you
won't be able to have another free listing for a few months. Dance
teachers regularly check this web page to find new students.
If you live in a country/region where there is a DTOL representative,
you could email them to see whether they can help. These are the current

If you still have no joy, you can email DTOL from the web page
www.dtol.ndirect.co.uk/ng3.htm, saying what classes you are looking
for and where and when. Your request will appear in the next Members'
Newsletter, sent weekly to DTOL's dance teacher members.
If you are a freelance teacher and looking for work, keep an eye on the
SCHOOLS AND COMPANIES LOOKING FOR TEACHERS web page at
www.dtol.ndirect.co.uk/dtol15.htm. There are always a good number of
dance teacher vacancies there. You can also register your details for a
free 4 week listing on the DANCE TEACHERS AND DANCERS LOOKING FOR WORK
web page, which is at
www.dtol.ndirect.co.uk/dtol13.htm. If you want to post your listing
on this page for longer than 4 weeks, you can do so for a small payment.
Occasionally a teacher will try to sneak in a second free listing, but I
usually keep a pretty close watch on this! (although it's perfectly OK
to have a second listing some time after a previous listing - say a few
months)
The SCHOOLS AND COMPANIES LOOKING FOR TEACHERS web page at
www.dtol.ndirect.co.uk/dtol15.htm is the place to be if you are a
dance school looking to hire a teacher. Again, the listing is free for a
short time - 2 weeks - but you can post for longer for a small payment.
There's also a relatively little-used web page DANCE MUSIC AND MUSICIANS
at
www.dtol.ndirect.co.uk/dtol16.htm. This page is intended for dance
class pianists seeking work, teachers seeking pianists, etc.

This book photographically charts the work that Alan Foley and Monica

classical ballet in Ireland.
The first of two CDs for Music for contemporary and modern dance classes
by Paul Pavey, "a bird in the hand .... two in the bush" has 16 tracks,
over 60 minutes of music with various tempi, rhythm, time signatures and
atmosphere. Suitable for warm-up, center combinations, crossing the
floor and jumps. Varied instrumentation including drums and percussion,
flutes, harmonica, vocals, keyboards and dijeridu.
The second CD, "blood is thicker than water", has 14 tracks, over 60
minutes of music with various tempi, rhythm and atmosphere. All tracks
are based in varied multiples of 3. Finding music on 3,6,9 or 12 can be
very difficult so this album should cater for many needs and is suitable
for warm-up, center combinations, crossing the floor and jumps. With an
equally varied instrumentation including drums and percussion, pipes,
guitars, trumpet, vocals, keyboards and electronic effects.
The third CD is "Two compositions for modern Ballet commissioned by
Martin Schläpfer, Ballet Mainz, Germany":
#1 " Ein Wald ... Ein See " 42:00 - composed in 2005/6, this is a piece
with constant change in atmosphere and rhythm, texture and colour.
Instrumentation includes Vocals, Slovakian Fujara, Hathway Saz, Piano,
Trumpet, Bodhrán and Waterdrum, electronic effects.
#2 - 3 Mandocello Suite, " in my day and night " 24:04 - composed in
2004, this piece was written upon the Paul Hathway Mandocello. It is
extremely rare to find music with such texture and varied styles
composed for this instrument.
