Dance for Life

Following the success of 'Dance for Life' over the last two years, The British Red Cross is expanding this project across 12 counties in Hampshire, Surrey, Isle of Wight, Sussex, Norfolk, Suffolk, Leicestershire, Kent, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire an Dorset and is calling on schools, youth groups and dance schools from across the country to join them in one of the biggest celebrations of youth dance. This exciting opportunity opens dance up to all pupils regardless of their ability as a medium to overcome cultural, social and physical barriers, giving youngsters exclusive performance opportunities they can celebrate with friends, family and their whole community.

The event will help raise money for vulnerable people locally and overseas and Konnie Huq, Blue Peter presenter and ambassador for the charity, is excited about this opportunity to celebrate youth dance.

Konnie said: "Dance for Life offers such a wonderful opportunity for all young people to perform in a fun and friendly environment. Not only will the young performers be exploring the diversity of dance, but it will also give them a greater understanding of the how the Red Cross works with vulnerable people in crisis."

We are excited to announce that Trap Media as part of their 2020 Dreams project have sponsored the prizes for this years event, which include 2-hour workshops, with top artists, in any style of dance for the winning groups.

Last year over 600 young performers from schools, youth groups and dance schools helped The Red Cross celebrate the diversity of dance and one of the finalist from last year Ice Gems have already signed up for 2008!

The National Dance Teachers Association (NDTA), a membership organisation whose sole remit is to represent dance in education, wishes to appoint a dynamic, resourceful and highly organised Development Manager. You will take a key role in developing the strategic potential of NDTA and in raising its profile as the leading national association for dance in education.

You will have at least three years experience of dance/arts management, administration or teaching in schools and substantial experience of initiating, developing and co-ordinating projects.

Part-time: 22.5 hours a week (3 days)
Salary: £30,000 per annum (pro rata)
