"I think it would be a pity to close! You do have interesting stuff it is probably that the readers are to blame. I am going to do some research again! And this is where I know through you and the readers I can get a broader view point.

We have just had an international competition held in Cape Town S.Africa and it has got me thinking as to what we as dance/ballet teachers should be trying to achieve in our training. What is more important- the gymnastic high legs/ anorexic bodies or should teachers still be aiming for flexibility/strength but more importantly the artistry and musicality. Is the dance body the emphasis and what we can get it to do or is the dancer more important. It does concern one as to what these bodies, that have received such harsh training, will be like in their mid twenties/thirties?

Or is this the way to progress? I would be very interested in hearing from you and your readers?"

Given that this newsletter will no longer appear regularly, I should remind readers of the ways in which you can use the DTOL web site to help you.

If you are looking for a dance class, the first place to look is the DTOL listings. You can find all the listings pages from the Map of the World page at www.dtol.ndirect.co.uk/dtol2.htm

It's always worth looking, even if you haven't found a teacher there before - many new dance teachers register on DTOL every week on average. AND there's a new filter facility - you can select the type of dance you're interested in and those listings including that word will be shown.

If you can't find a teacher or class on the listings page, you can register your details for a free 4 week listing on the STUDENTS AND ADULTS LOOKING FOR DANCE CLASSES web page at www.dtol.ndirect.co.uk/dtol14a.asp

If you've done that recently, you won't be able to have another free listing for a few months. Dance teachers regularly check this web page to find new students.

If you want to post your listing on this page for longer than 4 weeks, you can do so for a small payment. Occasionally a teacher will try to sneak in a second free listing, but I usually keep a pretty close watch on this! (although it's perfectly OK to have a second listing some time after a previous listing - say a few months)
