Lafour Dance & Drama Schools establish and promote classes for Dance and Drama nationally within prestigious private health clubs. Current locations include: Bracknell, Crowthorne, Sindlesham, Wokingham, (Berks), Farnborough (Hants), Kingston (Surrey), Swiss Cottage, Cricklewood (Central London), Bromley, Medway (outer London) Northampton Derby and Lincoln (Midlands & North).

Lafour’s vision is to introduce and maintain quality dance and theatre training into established fitness and leisure venues, providing progressive courses for recreational and aspiring professional students and performance opportunities.

We are all increasingly aware that exercise is not only good for our physical fitness but it is also good for improving mental concentration and well being……so we are all looking at ways to fit some form of exercise into our busy daily schedules.

Health Clubs have firmly established exercise regimes within a social environment where all the family can partake in fitness, fun and leisure activities – at the same time! However, most Health Clubs only offer children’s fun activities. Lafour however offers progression and education as part of this fitness regime. So instead of just "running around" children can take part in a physical activity that is also progressive, educational and meaningful – and which may result in a vocational occupation!!

This is just one of the reasons why Lafour is expanding.

WHAT - WHERE - WHEN - HOW

Dance – Classes are offered for children from ages 3 to 16 in ballet, tap and modern dance. Lafour adopts the RAD syllabus for ballet and the ISTD syllabi for Modern and Tap. "Fun" classes in Street or Hip Hop are also offered at some locations.

Drama – A progressive programme is offered for ages 4-6 years and 7-9 years which has been especially written for Lafour, including drama games, singing techniques and music, together with exclusively created scripts for performance opportunities. Teacher training is given and a choice of scripts is available to suit individual teacher inspiration! We do not want to curtail your creativity – just take out the drudgery of research.

Lafour is frequently being approached by Health & Fitness Clubs all over the UK to start new Dance & Drama classes. Additional venues are coming up all the time. Once a Lafour teacher is found then a location is sourced to commence as soon as possible.

Regular class times are pre-arranged to suit both the club and teacher and advertised well in advance.

The start-up expectation is normally 1 day of 3 hours tuition, but this varies from site to site. Regular class commencement is usually scheduled within 2 or 3 weeks of the taster class date.

We start at each location with Taster Classes to promote the classes and determine demand. Taster classes are normally offered on week-days or week-ends to complement the Club’s timetable.

For Dance, you should be ISTD (Modern & Tap), or RAD (Ballet) qualified, OR undertaking or intending to undertake an accredited course. Lafour is willing to support teacher training with RAD and ISTD as much as possible.

For Drama, who should have received accredited training in drama or musical theatre. Teaching experience and/or a professional performance background would also be advantageous.
