The Gloria Harrison Dance Studio teaches ballet, tap, modern jazz, acrobatic and flamenco to students from 2 years old up to adults.

Age groups:
Babies (2 yrs), Tots (3 & 4 yrs), Juniors (5 to 10 yrs), Inters (11 to 14 yrs), Seniors, Adults

The School holds examinations, medal test awards and competitions. It also holds workshops and presents shows.

A student teacher training course is available, leading to teacher qualifications through the United Kingdom Dance and Drama Federation (U.K.D.D.F.).

Work is to advanced standard, giving students the ability to audition for professional jobs.

Performers Course

This is a one or two year course depending on prior knowledge. Students will take examinations at Elementary standard, preparing them for the professional world.

They will be given an understanding of classical ballet, jazz dance, tap, acrobatics (a vital element in today's dance world; knowledge of this form of dance improves your chance of work in the field as a professional) and Spanish Flamenco.

Overseas students

Overseas applicants who are unable to attend for audition or interview will be assessed from their application forms and streamed accordingly within the first few weeks of entry.

Accommodation

The Federation will help, wherever possible, to accommodate students in suitable hostels or other rented flat accommodation.

STOKE ON TRENT is known as the Potteries, being world famous for the manufacturing and design of pottery and crafts. Leading names such as Royal Doulton, Wedgwood and Minton are located in the town.

STOKE ON TRENT enjoys a central location within the U.K. By road it is linked directly to the M6 motorway, at junction 15 and 16 by the A500 urban expressway.

The main inter-city rail route runs through the heart of Stoke on Trent, allowing London to be reached in under two hours.

Chester, the oldest city in England, is only one hour away. Lichfield is less than an hour in the opposite direction.

GLORIA HARRISON IS THE FOUNDER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED KINGDOM DANCE AND DRAMA FEDERATION (U.K.D.D.F.)

Gloria Harrison started dancing when she was aged 9 years. She attended the Minnie Skerratt School of Dance in Newcastle under Lyme. Her training included:

Modern Elementary I.S.T.D.
Acrobatic Diploma Advanced B.B.O.
National Elementary I.S.T.D.

Gloria also studied teaching with Vera Hildreth in Wolverhampton and with the I.D.T.A. in Leicester, successfully passing her Examiners' Course in all major subjects to Advanced standard.

Dancing Career

Gloria has danced in Spain and Germany. Her teachers, mentors and dance partners include:

Soloist and former Ballet Mistress with the German National Ballet.

Jose de Udaeta
Spanish Flamenco Ballet soloist and instrumental reformist for the Spanish Ballet as we know it today and a world-renowned dancer and castanet performer.

Soloist with the Bolshoi Ballet, Russia.

Ekoue Codjovi
Dancer and teacher, formerly with the Moulin Rouge, Paris.

American tap dancer.
