What is Pointe by Point?
A unique and instructive 45 minute video lecture-demonstration based on Barbara Fewster's years of experience in overseeing the training of many of Britain's most talented dancers. Pointe by Point is an invaluable companion to Teachers throughout the world, guiding the Dancer's first tentative steps on pointe.
Two courses of study
Pointe by Point embraces two levels of training. The Course for Beginners is a slow and careful build-up to develop strength and good placement. The Course at a Pre-Elementary to Elementary level, a logical progression from Part I, is designed to increase technique and encourage confidence.

Ballet for Boys

During his seventeen years at the Royal Ballet School, Richard Glasstone taught many of Britain's most talented male dancers. In Ballet for Boys, he outlines some of his ideas and methods. It is an ideal companion for those unsure of how best to approach teaching ballet to boys.
Demonstrated by young beginners, late starters and a professional dancer, the teaching of the basic movements: bending, extending, rising, turning, jumping, darting, etc. is explained and illustrated in a specialised series of exercises. These will help boys learning dancing for fun, as well as those interested in a career in ballet.
Although evolved through the teaching of male dancers, the immensely helpful ideas in Ballet for Boys can be adapted and developed for any ballet class.
Included with the video is a booklet by Richard Glasstone setting out some of the more important points.
