INTERNATIONAL SUMMER BALLET SCHOOL, EDINBURGH

12 July - 26 July 2008

Venue: Loreto School, Musselburgh, near Edinburgh, Scotland

The duration of this Course is two weeks with a performance in The Church Hill Theatre on Friday 27th July to conclude the Course. However, the option to book for one week only is available as is the option to attend as a non-resident.

The Course is mainly for dancers aiming for a professional career, but will be equally enjoyed by other dance students and young teachers. A residential course with some places for non- residents.

The schedule provides the "student" with four to five classes per day in Classical Ballet, Russian/Legat System Double Work, Pointe Work, Pas de Deux (senior level), Character dance and Character repertoire, Ballet repertoire and variation, Pointe-Work strengthening classes, Boys' technique, Modern Dance and Jazz. There will be a choreographic session each evening in preparation for the end of course performance.


 
In addition to regular Russian Ballet Society staff, Guest Teachers are invited from Russia and other European countries and the U.S.A.

SUPERVISION

A Supervisor/Matron will be in residence to attend to students' needs and to help make their stay happy and comfortable. The Secretary will be available at specific times to answer any questions and to help organise outings. All relevant information will be included in the joining instructions, which will be forwarded on receipt of deposit. An escort service from Airport or Station can be provided for a fee (payable at the time). Taxis are also available.
