BECOMING A QUALIFIED TEACHER OF THE R.B.Soc.

Step 1.
Application may be made through a member school or directly to the Head Office of the
R.B.Soc. Initially, it is essential to attend a R.B.Soc. course for assessment. Step 2. On acceptance for training, a plan will be suggested for study at a recommended school. It will be necessary to pass the Elementary examination to become a member of the Russian Ballet Society. Steps 3 and 4. Continue with studies at the recommended school and subsequently pass the Intermediate and Advanced examinations. |
| Step 5.
The candidate must now attend the official R.B.Soc. Course to confirm all aspects of
suitability to continue to train for the Junior Teacher Certificate. (i.e. good knowledge
and command of the Legat style and vocabulary must be evident) Step 6. The essential junior grades must now be practised, following a Course set by the recommended school (where study is being undertaken) and in accordance with the rules laid down by the R.B.Soc. Head Office. When considered ready for examination, the candidate should enter and pass the Junior Teacher level. Exactly the same plan is followed in order to enter for the Intermediate Teacher and Senior Teacher levels with assessment of progress and test of knowledge between each level of study at R.B.Soc. official courses. It should be noted that, as Character Dance forms an important section of the Senior Teacher examination, study of this subject should be commenced as early as possible in the candidate's training programme and should continue on a regular basis while undergoing training for all Teacher certificates. |
